The 4th AFSSA Conference welcomes scholarly contributions that delve into the rich tapestry of South Asian cinema post-2000. Through comprehensive analyses of selected films (or a group of films) exploring changing trends in cinema viewership, labour, and industry, as well as cinema’s shifting forms and aesthetics, the conference hopes to build a deeper understanding of the region's media landscape. Embracing a cinematic imagination, the conference seeks to analyse the interconnectedness of multiple histories and encounters, both within South Asia as a geographic entity and of South Asia as a regional bloc or political force on the global stage.
